Ford F-150
Ford F-150
The F-Series is a series of trucks from Ford Motor Company that have been sold for over 5 decades. The most popular variant of the F-Series is the F-150, a full-size pickup truck. It has been the best-selling vehicle in the world for 23 years and the best-selling truck in the United States (and possibly the world) for 29 years. Analysts estimate that the F-Series alone makes up half of the Ford Motor Company’s profits in recent years. With the 2007 Model Year, Ford is currently in its 11th Generation of the F-Series.
Ford F-150 has remained the biggest selling pickup truck in the United States of America and everyone is waiting to check out the 2009 Ford F-150. The majorly redesigned pickup truck promises even more for 2009. The 12th generation truck does not have to strive too hard to beat competition, with a horde of new features and a potential for immense appeal in every respect. If you ask other automotive critics like New Car Test Drive, the verdict is positive: “We would say without a moment of hesitation that this was the classiest, quietest, most completely equipped pickup truck interior we have ever spent time in.”
There are 8 trims available with the 2009 Ford F-150. The base trim is XL, followed by the sporty feeling STX, off-road focused trims FX4 and Raptor, a mid-level XLT, higher level King Ranch and Lariat trims, and finally the top trim named Platinum. The pickup is available as Regular cab, SuperCab, and a SuperCrew as well. A variety of combinations are offered for different priorities. The base V8 engine (mated to 4-speed automatic) is of capacity 4.6-liter and offers a tidy 248 HP. This engine is also available as a 292-hp flavor. Then there is a 5.4L V8 engine of 320 HP, capable of running on E85 ethanol-blend fuel. Both these engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Pickup box styles vary, and the trims come as 4×2 drive or 4×4 drive systems, each offering a host of impressive features. Retractable cable lock, vehicle tracking device, tool inventory system, dashboard computer (with printer) tailgate step, bed extender, capless fuel filler, rearview camera, voice-activated navigation system and hideaway side step (for pickup bed access) are available. Let us not ignore the favorite feature in this pickup, Ford’s Sync communication interface for cell phone and mp3 management). The trims come in various wheel sizes ranging from 17 inch (XL) to 20 inch (Platinum).
Exteriors are matchless, with an exceptionally light yet sturdy boxed frame, tough chassis and rugged good looks. Maximum towing capacity on all trims is 11,300 lb. Interiors are roomy, with a lengthy flow-through console and adjustable seating. There are 30 different storage facilities in the 2009 Ford F-150 solid pickup. The Raptor is the much-awaited off-road capable trim, with a special off-road suspension tuning.
The options are plenty, including a thoughtful Platinum Edition package, a Superior Fuel Economy package and tons of stand-alone options including Ford Work Solution features, remote starter system and trailer brake controller. Standard Safety features are offered. Prepare to take home this beauty of a pickup for about $21,095 to $35,630.
